It is not what happens that matters

It is not “what happens” to you that determines the quality of your life, because “what happens” happens to everybody, there is no difference.
For example, the sun rose on all of us this morning, this is a common event, a happening, but we all had different mornings, one was promoted another was demoted, one struggled with his/her child another struggled to have a child, one worked hard to go to college another would do anything not to go to his/her college..
So it is not what happens to us, rather, it is what we do about it.
It is not what happens, it is what you do
Jim Rohn once mentioned an example of two salesmen, they woke up one morning found a rain storm on, one looked out his window and said, wow what a storm, with weather like this they don’t expect you to go out and make sales, and decided to stay home.
The other one looked out his window and said, wow what a storm, with weather like this is perfect chance to go out and make sales, mostly everybody will be home, especially the salesmen!
So starting tomorrow what are you going to do that will make a change in your life’s direction?
What are you going to do starting tomorrow that will make a difference?
Answering this question is very important if you wish to make a better living, to lose weight, to learn a new skill, to get along with a family member or to overcome an adversity.
When I ask this question to my trainees, i get answers like: “what if?”, “I can not do that”, “Isn’t tomorrow too soon?”
For “what if?”the answer is, yes anything can happen.. everything in life is risky. Getting married is risky, having kids is risky, going out of your house is risky and driving your car is risky.
For “I can not do that” the answer is, Yes you can. as long as your friend, your neighbor, or your classmate can.
For “Isn’t tomorrow too soon?” the answer is, if not tomorrow, then when?
The decision is always yours.
At the end, it is not what happens it is what you do about it.

  1. Don’t demand or expect that events happen as you would wish them do. Accept events as they actually happen. That way, peace is possible.

  2. Superb blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.

Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress
or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely confused ..
    Any tips? Thanks!
